How to Immigrate to Canada as a Nurse – Nurses jobs in Canada for year 2017
The Canadian Nurses Association announced that Canada will require an additional approximately 60,000 nurses by 2022, in order to offset labour shortages.
How to Immigrate to Canada as a Nurse
Now Canada opens its door to international educated nurses, to be approved and immigrate to Canada and start working as soon as you arrive you must follow a particular steps. First of all to work as a nurse in Canada you must have the professional designations, such as LPN, RPN or RN and must meet the mandatory education requirement for a nurse in Canada
The first step to get all of your qualifications and work experience assessed and converted into North American Standards by the National Nursing Assessment Services (NNAS). ME-Consultants will assist you to identify the Province or Canada Territory you wish to live and work in. It’s important to note that each province and territory has its regulation requirement, and immigrant nurses must be assessed by the nursing regulatory body in the territory or province where they want to be employed as a nursing professional.
As an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) you must set up an account with NNAS before your application will be considered by any Canadian nursing regulatory. All IEN’s must pay the application fees and submit mandatory education and work experience documents for verification.
As soon as your file is complete, NNAS will evaluate it and provide you with online access to an Advisory Report, which contains the results of the evaluation. Also a copy of this report will be sent to the relevant regulatory body.
NOTE: The regulatory body, not NNAS, will determine if you are eligible to register, or whether you need additional assessments or must take additional courses. It is the regulatory body that will make the final decision about your registration or licensure.
